Românii întorc spatele turismului intern. Un nou an de scăderi record, în timp ce peste 77% din locurile de cazare rămân goale - Economica.net
In the first half of the year, the number of Romanian tourists decreased while foreign tourist numbers increased, alongside a rise in accommodation capacity. The total accommodation capacity grew by 4.9% compared to last year, with hotels making up the largest share. However, nearly 80% of available accommodation remained unoccupied, with an average occupancy rate of 22.8%. Bucharest and major cities had the highest occupancy rates, driven by business tourism, while mountain tourism and rural areas faced challenges. Balneotourism showed steady demand with a 35.1% hotel occupancy rate, while other types of accommodations varied significantly in occupancy levels. Overall, the tourism landscape reflects a shift towards foreign visitors and changing preferences in accommodation types.
