Românii cu credite legate de ROBOR ar putea primi despăgubiri

Romanian borrowers with loans linked to ROBOR may receive compensation if they prove they were harmed by a distorted reference index. The Senate approved a bill for recalculating payment obligations and refunding identified damages. Affected clients can choose between receiving funds in a bank account or reducing their loan balance. Banks must recalculate obligations based on the IRCC index and provide detailed damage reports. Consumers can request contract reviews after a damage assessment, and banks must respond within 30 days. If compensation offers are rejected, clients can seek legal recourse. The initiative follows a Competition Council investigation into ROBOR's establishment, which led to significant fines for several banks.
