Românii consumă mai puțin curent decât nivelul maxim prognozat, după ce s-a închis și al doilea reactor nuclear. Din ce surse se acoperă necesarul de energie
On Thursday, Romania experienced a significant drop in energy consumption as nuclear power production reached zero for the first time in 23 years. The forecasted peak consumption was not met, with actual figures showing a lower demand than expected. This situation arose after the controlled shutdown of the second reactor at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant, which typically contributes about 20% of the country's electricity. Romania has been on energy alert since August 1, following the earlier shutdown of the first reactor and reduced output from hydroelectric plants. Despite the lower consumption, the country has a cross-border import capacity of around 4,000 MW, with expected imports to meet peak demand. The energy mix showed a significant reliance on hydro and fossil fuels, while nuclear power remained inactive.
