In August, Romanians were the largest group of foreign tourists in Bulgaria, while Bulgarian visits to Romania also increased. The total number of Bulgarian trips abroad rose by 3.5% compared to last year, with Greece being the top destination. Romania ranked third with 78,900 visits. In contrast, Bulgaria saw a 2.1% decrease in foreign visits, with many being transit travelers. EU citizens accounted for 58.9% of foreign visits, with Romanians making up over 32%.
