Românii au redus cumpărăturile în 2026. Vânzările de alimente au scăzut cu 4,2%, cele de produse nealimentare cu peste 6%

Retail sales in Romania decreased by 5% in the first eight months of 2026 compared to the previous year, with food sales down by 4.2% and non-food sales by over 6%. August showed a slight recovery, with retail turnover increasing by 0.9% compared to August 2025. The most significant decline was in non-food products, which fell by 6.1%. Despite the overall negative trend, August's data indicated a monthly increase in retail sales, particularly in non-food items and fuel. However, the cumulative sales for the first eight months remain lower than in 2025, reflecting ongoing challenges in the retail sector.
