Românii au asigurat călătorii de peste 85 de miliarde de lei în 2025

In 2025, Romanians purchased travel insurance policies covering over 85 billion lei, reflecting a 13% increase from 2024. This trend indicates a growing awareness of the importance of travel insurance among tourists. On average, two travelers received compensation every hour last year, with over 81 million lei paid out in claims. The majority of high-value claims were for trips to the USA, Greece, Austria, Egypt, and Turkey, primarily for medical emergencies and repatriation costs. The number of travel policies increased by about 12% compared to the previous year, highlighting the rising demand for financial protection during vacations.
