Românii aruncă bani la gunoi. Cât pierde o familie într-un an din cauza risipei alimentare
Food waste in Romania leads to significant financial losses for families, with annual losses ranging from hundreds to thousands of lei. Approximately 1.87 million tons of food are discarded each year, primarily due to poor shopping habits and lack of planning. Over half of this waste occurs in households, driven by impulsive purchases and misunderstanding of food labeling. The Romanian Food Banks Federation emphasizes the economic and social implications of food waste, advocating for better management and donation of surplus food. Their network has collected over 49,000 tons of food since its establishment, providing support to vulnerable communities.
