In the first seven months of 2026, Romania's electricity consumption decreased by 11.9% compared to the same period in 2025. Domestic electricity production fell by approximately 3%, while imports dropped by 9.4%. However, electricity exports increased significantly. The overall final electricity consumption also saw a decline, with notable reductions in public lighting and household usage. Despite a decrease in primary energy resources, electricity resources slightly increased, indicating a complex energy landscape in Romania.
