România va primi 1,1 milioane de doze de vaccin pentru oi și capre de la Comisia Europeană

Romania is set to receive 1.1 million doses of vaccines against sheep pox and small ruminant plague on October 24, 2026, following the activation of EU vaccine banks by the European Commission. The vaccines include 800,000 doses for sheep and goat pox and 300,000 doses for small ruminant plague. The request for these vaccines was made by Romanian authorities on September 21, 2026, and after clarifications were provided, the Commission activated the vaccine banks on October 8, 2026. The vaccines are intended for emergency vaccination campaigns, not for ongoing support. The Romanian government will cover the vaccination costs for farmers, and the resumption of sheep exports is crucial for the sector, especially after the EU extended export bans due to disease outbreaks.
