Romania will host the 2027 Ice Hockey World Championship, Division I, Group B, at the Târgu Mureș rink from May 1-7, 2027. This decision was made during the IIHF Semi-Annual Congress in Tenerife. The event will feature six national teams: Japan, China, Romania, South Korea, Spain, and the Netherlands. This marks Romania's second senior World Championship in three years, following the 2025 event in Sfântu Gheorghe. Romania has also hosted two youth championships recently.
