Romania is set to enhance its coastal and Delta Dunării defense with 65 American AAV-7 amphibious vehicles. Recent military exercises involved Romanian and Turkish forces simulating an aerial drone attack. The AAV-7s, designed for the Marine Corps, were officially presented in Babadag, emphasizing their strategic importance in the Black Sea region. Each vehicle can carry a crew of three and up to 21 fully equipped marines or five tons of cargo. The total cost for the fleet is $301 million, including training and equipment, with deliveries scheduled from 2026 to 2031.
