In 2025, EU government funding for research and development reached €288.9 per capita, a 57.7% increase since 2015. Luxembourg, Denmark, and Germany had the highest allocations, while Romania reported a decline to €18.8 per capita. Overall EU funding totaled €130.2 billion, marking a 60.5% increase from 2015. The majority of funds were directed towards general knowledge development.
