România ridică un nou scut antidronă la Marea Neagră și pe Dunăre. Black Talon poate neutraliza rapid dronele • Newsweek România
Romania is enhancing its defense capabilities at the Black Sea and Danube with the American Black Talon system, designed to detect and neutralize aerial and maritime drones. This system will be installed in four key military ports, including Constanța, Mangalia, Tulcea, and Brăila, amid rising threats linked to the Ukraine conflict. Black Talon can jam communications between drones and their operators and has a range of about 10 kilometers. The system is currently being tested and is expected to be operational by the end of October. Additionally, underwater surveillance systems will complement the defense, addressing threats below the water's surface. The initiative follows several incidents highlighting vulnerabilities in Romania's infrastructure, prompting increased security measures and cooperation with Ukrainian naval forces.
