In July, the annual inflation rate in the EU rose to 3%, with Romania experiencing the highest rate at 8.2%. This marks a significant decrease from the previous month. While inflation decreased in 15 EU member states, it remained stable in three and increased in nine. The eurozone's inflation rate also increased to 2.9%. Services contributed the most to inflation in the eurozone, followed by energy and food prices. The National Institute of Statistics reported a decrease in Romania's inflation from 10.42% in June to 8.16% in July, with services, non-food goods, and food goods all experiencing price increases. The National Bank of Romania revised its inflation forecast for the end of 2026 to 5.5%.
