Eurostat reported a 0.3% decline in the EU, while Romania experienced a 1.5% growth, following a significant 5.9% rise in June. Year-on-year, construction in the eurozone fell by 2%, but Romania's construction sector grew by 1.8%. The National Institute of Statistics noted a 7.6% increase in construction volume in July compared to June, driven by maintenance and new construction projects. Adjusted figures showed a 1.4% rise, with notable increases in non-residential buildings. However, compared to July 2025, there was a 2% overall increase in construction volume, with new construction up by 6.4%.
