Romania has experienced significant fuel price increases, ranking among the highest in the EU with a 23.1% rise from June 2025 to June 2026. Overall, EU fuel prices rose by 13.7%, with Bulgaria and Lithuania seeing even larger increases. Despite this, there was a general decline in fuel prices across the EU from May to June 2026, with Romania reporting nearly a 4% decrease in both diesel and gasoline prices during this period.
