Romania experienced one of the lowest fuel price increases in the EU in September 2026, with annual prices nearly 30% higher than last year. Diesel prices rose by 3% and gasoline by 4.2% compared to August. In contrast, Sweden and Poland saw significant monthly increases. Despite moderate monthly changes, the annual growth rate for fuel prices in Romania accelerated from 26.7% in August to 29.4% in September. Bulgaria recorded the highest annual increase at 42.2%.
