România primește primele vehicule amfibii AAV din SUA

Romania has received its first nine amphibious assault vehicles (AAV) from the United States, enhancing defense cooperation. The vehicles arrived in Babadag, where technical training will commence for their active service. Designed for troop and equipment transport during amphibious operations, AAVs can operate in challenging terrains, particularly in the Danube Delta and Black Sea coast. The vehicles will be operated by the 307 Marine Infantry Regiment, with support from U.S. Marines for logistics and operational expertise. This delivery marks the beginning of training and operationalization of new capabilities in Romania, aimed at strengthening defense and cooperation with the U.S. on NATO's eastern flank.
