România primește prima plată de 2,5 miliarde de euro în cadrul instrumentului de apărare SAFE

Romania has received its first payment of 2.5 billion euros through the SAFE defense instrument, marking 15% of its total allocation. The SAFE initiative, with a budget of 150 billion euros, aims to support member states in defense investments, focusing on joint procurement of military equipment produced in the EU. This funding is part of the European Commission's ReArm Europe plan, which seeks to mobilize over 800 billion euros for defense investments across the EU. The European Commissioner for Defense highlighted the payment as a significant step for European defense and Romania's military capabilities. Further payments will follow as Romania meets agreed milestones.
