România pregătește un nou mecanism de securitate la Marea Neagră | Oana Țoiu: „NATO rămâne pilonul principal de apărare”

Romania collaborates with Bulgaria and Turkey to enhance maritime security and protect critical infrastructure in the Black Sea, establishing a European maritime security hub in Constanta and Varna. Foreign Minister Oana Toiu emphasized the importance of NATO and EU cooperation against hybrid threats, including cyberattacks. The three countries are already engaged in joint demining activities and have expanded their collaboration following a NATO summit in Ankara. Romania aims to strengthen information exchange with Turkey and support the inclusion of the project in future EU funding. Toiu also highlighted the need for a coordinated response to hybrid threats, proposing sanctions against individuals responsible for cyberattacks on critical infrastructure.
