Romania aims to strengthen its role as a regional hub for infrastructure, energy, and trade over the next five years, targeting investments exceeding 50 billion euros. Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu highlighted the country's economic growth and transformation since the 1990s, emphasizing its potential as a connector between the EU and Eastern neighbors. She noted the importance of completed highways and railways linking Romania with Moldova and Ukraine, and the strategic partnership with the U.S. that extends beyond security to include investments and energy. The Vertical Corridor is seen as a key infrastructure for facilitating U.S. liquefied natural gas to European markets, positioning Romania as a transit country.
