Despite significant internet access improvements, the country lags behind the EU average of 60.4%. In 2025, Romania's household internet connectivity reached 95.47%, surpassing the EU average. However, the digital skills gap remains a major challenge, with only 4.91% of Romanians never having used the internet. The analysis highlights that while internet usage has increased, developing digital skills is crucial for Romania's progress.
