Romania finished 17th in both the Open and women's sections at the Chess Olympiad in Uzbekistan, with solid performances from both teams. The Open team achieved 5 wins, 5 draws, and 1 loss, while the women's team recorded 7 wins, 1 draw, and 3 losses. Uzbekistan won gold in the Open section, and China topped the women's section. Romania ranked 18th in the Gaprindashvili Cup, which includes results from both sections. The Romanian Chess Federation congratulated the teams for their representation.
