A recent OECD report highlights that Romania has a significant number of young people not engaged in work or education, with 23% of 18-24 year-olds inactive. This is notably higher than the EU average of 14%. Additionally, only 19% of Romanians aged 25-64 have completed higher education, while 56% have finished high school or vocational training. The report also notes a decrease in unemployment from 6% in 2015 to 3% in 2025, but high school graduates earn 18% less than the national average salary.
