Romania achieved outstanding results at the 2026 Balkan Olympiad in Informatics for Juniors, securing first place overall with three gold and one bronze medal. Andrei Nemțișor, an eighth-grade student, earned the absolute gold medal for the highest score among all participants. The competition took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with 55 competitors from 13 countries. Other gold medals were won by Traian Danciu and Vlad Bondoc, while Vlad Ioan Muntoiu secured bronze. The Romanian delegation was led by Eugen Nodea and Ioan-Cristian Pop, with the Ministry of Education overseeing the participation.
