România își „exportă” viitorul: aproape 30% dintre tineri declarǎ că intenționează să plece din țară pentru muncă sau studii în următoarele 12 luni

The Common Good Alliance highlights the significant human capital export from Romania, with a tripling of Romanians living abroad in two decades. As of 2021, nearly 3.9 million Romanians resided in OECD countries, with many young people planning to leave for better job opportunities. The trend affects various sectors, particularly healthcare, where a substantial number of professionals are emigrating. Despite some positive migration trends in 2024, the challenge remains to retain talent and ensure that returning citizens stay. The Alliance proposes an annual Talent Retention and Return Barometer to track migration patterns and suggests measures to improve conditions for those who wish to stay in Romania.
