The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority of Romania is negotiating an agreement with Turkey to facilitate the transit of livestock carcasses, enhancing access to Middle Eastern markets. Technical discussions will continue soon, focusing on veterinary regulations for exports. The Romanian delegation, led by Vice Prime Minister Tanczos Barna, emphasized the importance of institutional cooperation to manage veterinary health risks and expand trade opportunities. Turkey has shown interest in importing Romanian agri-food products, which could benefit local producers. Measures for early warning and cooperation were also established to prevent border blockages and harmonize food safety standards.
