Romania will start vaccinating against small ruminant plague after receiving the European Commission's approval. The campaign will begin in Constanta and Tulcea counties, providing farmers with 1.2 million doses for free. The decision was made during a meeting with ANSVSA and the interim Minister of Agriculture. The vaccination plan will be analyzed by the EuVet expert group, with European specialists visiting Romania to finalize it. The decision is based on several strategic arguments, including the risk of virus spread due to trade routes and the region's epidemiological history. Initially, 300,000 doses will be provided, with an additional 900,000 planned. ANSVSA has also secured a preliminary agreement for renegotiating veterinary export certificates with Arab countries, aiming to restore trade flows once European restrictions are lifted.
