România începe să schimbe locomotivele vechi. Prima Alstom Traxx a intrat în serviciu la CFR Călători

The first of 16 Alstom Traxx electric locomotives has entered service with CFR Călători, capable of reaching speeds of 160 km/h. This locomotive will operate on major interregional routes in Romania, including Bucharest to Constanța. These modern locomotives are designed to replace older, less efficient models and are equipped with advanced technologies such as ERTMS and GPS. They will serve a network of nearly 4,000 kilometers and are expected to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions significantly. The project, valued at 441.8 million lei, is funded through the Modernization Fund and aims to enhance the quality and capacity of rail services.
