Romania is launching funding programs aimed at installing over 4.4 GWh of battery storage capacity, with two new calls for public entities and a separate scheme for companies. The total budget for these initiatives is 650 million EUR, with a deadline for project submissions set for October 30, 2026. The funding is part of four programs, including a 150 million EUR scheme for standalone battery installations, expected to generate around 2,174 MWh of new capacity. The programs are financed through the Modernization Fund, supporting Romania's energy transition efforts.
