Cristian Signoretto, president of Eurogas, emphasized the importance of the Neptun Deep project for Europe's energy security during the Eurogas Annual Regional Conference 2026. He highlighted the need for internal gas production as a strategic asset and called for increased capacity in combined cycle gas plants. Signoretto also advocated for investments in carbon capture and storage systems, stressing that Romania could become a net gas exporter to the EU. He pointed out that natural gas will remain essential for energy security in the coming decades and urged for a technology-neutral approach in energy policy. The conference aimed to discuss Romania's role in enhancing energy security and sustainability in Eastern Europe.
