Romania's workforce is more digitally literate in AI than three of its Central and Eastern European counterparts, according to the Global AI Readiness Index for Outsourcing 2026. With a score of 63, Romania ranks ahead of Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria, only behind Poland. The index evaluates the top 25 outsourcing destinations based on AI adoption, workforce literacy, enterprise adoption, and educational pipeline. Romania holds the 13th position globally, surpassing many African and Latin American countries. Its AI adoption score among the population is 69, ranking 10th worldwide, while its educational pipeline score is 62, placing it 11th. The small gap between AI adoption and workforce literacy indicates a strong alignment in Romania's AI capabilities.
