România cere sprijinul Alianței Nucleare pentru retehnologizarea Unității 1 de la Cernavodă. Anunțul ministrului Energiei
Romania's Energy Minister Dumitru Chisăliţă has sought European support for the modernization of Unit 1 at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. This request was made during a meeting in Luxembourg amid an ongoing European Commission investigation into state aid for the project. The modernization aims to ensure long-term low-carbon electricity production and energy security. The Nuclear Alliance emphasizes the role of nuclear energy in Europe’s energy security and decarbonization goals. Chisăliţă highlighted the need for a supportive European framework for nuclear investments, which are crucial for Romania's energy strategy. The project aims to extend the reactor's operational life by 30 years, maintaining its current production capacity of 706 megawatts.
