Romania recorded the highest annual increase in fuel prices in the EU in July, with a rise of 24.2% compared to the previous year. This increase surpassed those in Germany and Lithuania, both at 22.9%, and Bulgaria at 22.2%. In contrast, Hungary saw a slight decrease in prices. Overall, fuel prices in the EU rose by 16.9% year-on-year, with significant month-to-month increases in July. Diesel prices increased by 4.3% and gasoline by 4.7% compared to June. Former Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan urged the government to take action due to rapidly rising diesel prices.
