Romania has received its first neonatal MRI, now available at the Marie Curie Emergency Clinical Hospital in Bucharest. This specialized equipment is designed for newborn investigations and is currently found in only a few European centers. The project, led by the VASILIU Association with support from Lidl Romania, involved a donation of 1.3 million euros for its acquisition. The MRI is tailored to meet the needs of critically ill newborns, allowing for essential diagnostic information without exposing them to ionizing radiation. Its installation marks a significant advancement in neonatal care, reducing risks associated with transporting fragile patients for imaging. The initiative reflects a commitment to improving healthcare options for children in Romania.
