Bernadette Szocs won a thrilling match against Poland's Natalia Bajor, coming back from behind to secure a 4-3 victory. Szocs, the second seed, faced a tough challenge but managed to dominate the final set. Elena Zaharia also made history by reaching the quarter-finals after defeating Italy's Gaia Monfardini 4-2, marking her best performance at the senior European Championships. Romania nearly had three players in the quarter-finals, but Andreea Dragoman lost a close match to Germany's Nina Mittelham.
