Romania experienced the highest annual increase in fuel prices in the EU in July, with a rise of 24.2% compared to the previous year. This surge surpassed increases in Germany and Lithuania, which saw rises of 22.9%. In contrast, Hungary reported a slight decrease in fuel prices. Overall, fuel prices in the EU increased by 16.9% year-on-year, with significant month-to-month rises noted as well. The former Energy Minister has urged government intervention due to the rapid price hikes.
