A legislative proposal aims to establish October 13 as National Home Safety Day to raise awareness about disaster prevention and financial protection. The loss of a home can mean losing a lifetime's savings, emphasizing the need for proactive measures. Antena 3 CNN and UNSAR are leading an awareness campaign on the importance of home insurance, which began in March 2025. The initiative seeks to unite authorities, NGOs, and private sector representatives to enhance financial education regarding home insurance. Last year, around 34,000 homes were insured, with estimates suggesting over 40,000 for this year. The goal is to make home insurance a priority before disasters occur.
