România, aproape de vârful clasamentului european al scumpirilor la alimente. Ce arată datele din ultimii cinci ani
A comparative analysis of food prices and minimum wages in Europe over the past five years reveals significant disparities, with Romania experiencing notable increases. While food prices surged across the EU, minimum wages generally rose even faster in most countries. Malta, Spain, and France saw declines in purchasing power for minimum wage earners. Food prices increased by 34% in the EU, with Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania facing the highest rises. In contrast, Turkey's food prices skyrocketed by 752% due to high inflation. Minimum wages also rose, with Hungary leading at 93%. However, higher wages do not guarantee increased purchasing power for food, as evidenced by declines in Malta, Spain, and France. Serbia and Montenegro saw the largest increases in food purchasing power, while several other countries also reported significant gains.
