Since joining the EU in 2007, Romania has received approximately 116.5 billion euros from the European Commission, significantly exceeding its contribution of about 38.2 billion euros. The country has nearly 31 billion euros allocated from EU funds until 2027. With the National Recovery and Resilience Plan concluding, Romania is seeking additional European funding sources. The total value of programs for 2021-2027 is around 31 billion lei, with national contributions reaching 41.97 billion euros. Nearly 22,800 projects have been submitted, totaling about 132.9 billion euros in eligible value, far exceeding Romania's allocation. Romania ranks second in the EU for funds received, with 11.31 billion euros disbursed so far.
