Construction activities in the EU decreased in June 2026, but Romania experienced the highest growth at 4.9%. Eurostat reported a 1.3% decline in the euro area and 1% in the EU compared to May 2026. Year-on-year, Romania's construction rose by 18.4%, following a 17.2% increase in May. The National Institute of Statistics noted a 20.1% rise in construction volume in June compared to May, with significant increases in capital repairs and new constructions. Adjusted figures showed a 4.9% growth, with notable increases in non-residential buildings and engineering constructions.
