Romania has exceeded its recycling target under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, completing 12 recycling facilities instead of the planned 9. These investments, amounting to hundreds of millions of lei, will enhance the country's waste recycling capabilities. The Minister of Environment emphasized the importance of these facilities in reducing waste sent to landfills and creating jobs. The completed plants can process various types of waste, including plastics, glass, textiles, and construction debris. Additionally, the government is supporting further recycling infrastructure development through a national program.
