Designed by Christina Stambolian, the dress gained fame after Diana wore it to a Vanity Fair party in 1994, coinciding with a televised interview of Prince Charles discussing infidelity. This marked a pivotal moment in Diana's public image, showcasing her independence post-separation from Charles. The auction will also support NHS Lothian Charity. The dress has remained a symbol of Diana's transformation and has been recreated for various productions, including Netflix's "The Crown."
