ROBOR a înghețat. Surse din bănci susțin că explicația ”înghețării” ROBOR se datorează amenzilor de la Concurență. Totuși, mai multe motive economice stau la baza inflexibilității ROBOR - Economica.net

For about three months, the ROBOR rates have remained stagnant due to several factors, including a Competition Council decision to fine banks involved in setting these rates. Excess liquidity in the market, high inflation, and the National Bank of Romania's (BNR) monetary policy also contribute to this situation. Despite a significant liquidity surplus, interest rates have not changed, as banks are hesitant to lower ROBOR below the deposit facility rate of 5.5%. Economists suggest that for BNR to adjust its monetary policy, inflation must decrease first. Current market conditions indicate sufficient liquidity but a lack of certainty regarding future monetary policy changes, leading to a flat interest rate curve. The difference between ROBID and ROBOR rates further supports this interpretation, indicating no liquidity crisis or lack of trust among banks.
