A major epidemiological risk has been identified in Alba County due to the illegal transport of sheep, with 41 lambs unaccounted for. The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) reported that 92 lambs were transported without proper veterinary documents. Upon inspection, only 51 lambs were found and subsequently euthanized due to biosecurity concerns. Authorities are investigating the origin of the missing lambs, which pose a significant risk of disease outbreaks, including Peste des Petits Ruminants. Increased police checkpoints will be implemented to prevent such illegal activities.
