Petrișor Peiu, a senator from AUR, revealed that the government contracted a billion euros to Rheinmetall for naval construction, which allowed the company to purchase the Mangalia shipyard. This shipyard, now owned by Rheinmetall, is crucial for military and commercial shipbuilding in Romania. The Romanian state has lost control over this strategically important asset, which is set to construct four military vessels under the SAFE program.
