Rheinmetall and MSC are set to acquire the Mangalia Shipyard for €138 million, pending necessary approvals. The shipyard will serve dual purposes for civil and military shipbuilding, including the construction of four military vessels for Romania. Rheinmetall plans to modernize the facility and enhance production capabilities, establishing a strategic presence in Southeast Europe. The transaction requires approval from the Competition Council and the Direct Investment Examination Commission, which are yet to be officially notified. The deal aims to develop a scalable production base for future projects in the region.
