Rezultate referendum Elveția: 69% au respins regulile mai stricte

Swiss voters rejected a proposal to amend the Constitution to enforce stricter neutrality rules and limit military cooperation with NATO. Preliminary results showed 68.6% against and 31.4% in favor, with a voter turnout of 46.36%. The initiative aimed to establish permanent neutrality, prohibiting military alliances unless Switzerland was attacked, and restricting sanctions to those approved by the UN. Supported mainly by the right-wing Swiss People's Party, the proposal faced opposition from the government and most parties, who argued it would compromise national security. The Swiss People's Party acknowledged the defeat but emphasized the importance of neutrality in Swiss identity. Experts noted that voters generally support the current application of neutrality and sanctions against Russia for the Ukraine war.
