As of August 31, 2026, Romania's foreign exchange reserves reached €64.865 billion, reflecting an increase from the previous month. The rise was driven by inflows of €4.487 billion, including contributions from the Ministry of Finance and the European Commission. Outflows totaled €2.852 billion, primarily for public debt payments. The gold reserves remained stable at 103.6 tons, valued at €12.762 billion. Total international reserves, including gold, amounted to €77.627 billion, up from €74.972 billion in July. Upcoming public debt payments in September are estimated at €2.684 billion.
