As of August 31, 2026, Romania's foreign exchange reserves reached 64.86 billion euros, increasing by 1.635 billion euros from the previous month. The central bank reported inflows of 4.487 billion euros, mainly due to changes in minimum reserves and financing from the European Commission. Outflows totaled 2.852 billion euros, including public debt payments. The gold reserves remained stable at 103.6 tons, valued at 12.762 billion euros. Overall international reserves, including gold, amounted to 77.627 billion euros, up from 74.972 billion euros in July 2026. Upcoming public debt payments in September 2026 are approximately 2.684 billion euros.
